EDITOR'S NOTES: A LOVELY LUNCH WITH PRESTON BAILEY

You know that there are times in your life when you just can't believe that what is happening is really happening. You know, you pinch yourself just so that you know that you are not dreaming. You know that feeling, right?

Well, I met my fellow members of the B-List this week to sit down to an amazing lunch with the legendary event planner, Preston Bailey and his team. What a memorable experience. As I walked off the elevator, I was immediately greeted by the man himself. He was so welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. I tried very hard to hide my nervousness. But trust me, I was a wreck inside.

After the exchange of pleasantries with the group, we sat down for what would prove to be one fantastic meal. I am not exaggerating. But I will tell you why later. To kickoff our lunch, Preston asked us to put our creative sides to work by taking the gorgeous flowers in our napkins and creating a floral centerpiece for the table. We were to remove the petals and carefully place each one around the bowl of water until it was filled with petals. Once the bowl was full, we took one of the flowers (removed from its stem), pulled it open slightly and placed it in the center of the petals. What a fab idea! What a simple way to make a table look so elegant.

After a wonderful flower arrangement lesson, lunch was served. As the meals were being placed, Preston talked very candidly about how changing his diet to eating primarily raw foods had changed his life. He spoke about the increase in his energy levels and his overall feeling of wellness. I had never considered eating raw foods. Seriously, raw foods have an image problem. It just doesn't seem appetizing when you hear those words. But that could not be further from the truth.

Enter Jana Keith-Jennings, Bailey's personal chef and the one responsible for making sure that he adheres to his raw foods diet. Our plates were a mix of steamed and raw food combinations that I would have never thought to put together. Jana made a watermelon and tomato salad, a fresh summer corn salad and mini raw mushroom pizzas. So delish. Who knew?!? But the best was yet to come.

There was a pair of beautifully beaded drapes that withheld a lovely surprise. Behind the curtain was the quintessential Preston Bailey design on display. It was full of Jana's delectable desserts. The table was filled with cookies, brownies, tarts, and chocolate truffles. I had a chance to speak with Jana and I was totally inspired by her passion for raw foods. Jana does not use processed anything! No processed flours, processed sugars, gluten, animal or dairy products or genetically modified additives. When she does have to use heat, she prefers steaming as her low-heat cooking method as it ensures that vital nutrients are not burned off as it may happen during conventional cooking methods. She really moved me to reconsider my eating habits. If I can eat meals like this everyday, count me in on this movement.

I was very thankful to have attended this fabulous wedding blogger's luncheon with the man who can take an empty space and turn it into something spectacular and very memorable. Many thanks to Preston Bailey and the entire Preston Bailey team for your graciousness and kindness. It will be an experience that I will never forget.

B-List Sponsor Spotlight: Williams-Sonoma

One of my favorite events during the B-List weekend was attending a wedding registry informational session and cooking demonstration at Williams-Sonoma. I adore Williams-Sonoma. I had to put myself on a restraining order over the past few years because I love shopping there.

If you haven't considered creating a wedding registry with Williams-Sonoma, you should totally re-think your decision. Williams-Sonoma takes your registry very seriously. When you arrive for your appointment, there is a registry specialist who is extremely knowledgeable and will carefully work with you to identify items for your registry to totally suit your lifestyle.

Williams-Sonoma has just about everything that you could imagine for your home. They have cookware, china, glassware, flatware, table linens, cutlery, juicers, coffee makers, bakeware, and the best gadgets imaginable.

These croissants were waiting for us along with a cup of delicious cappuccino. Beyond mouth-watering. I had to have two. You couldn't just eat one. Pair these delectable delights with their amazing jams and you have the perfect Sunday breakfast.

Our delicious frittatas were prepared in one of the amazing pans by All Clad. Food just tastes better when you are using top-notch cookware for your dishes. I totally wanted a set. But that would require that I cook more. Hmmmmm, not such a good idea.

There was a waffle iron demonstration and one of their newest registry items, which made me smile, is their Wine Club. Who doesn't love a Wine Club?

But I have to say that my favorite item that I would add to my registry was the Delonghi Perfecta Fully-Automatic Cappuccino Maker It is fully automatic. The milk is steamed in the container on your right and the espresso is released into the cup in the middle. Once that happens, the milk is released into the cup. Voilà! Cappuccino. This is a must have if you love coffee the way that I love coffee.

So head on over to your local Williams-Sonoma to start your wedding registry. You will find everything that a newly married couple will need.

A B-List Sponsor: One Love Photo

I always love to highlight great photographers. I have such a special place in my heart because they help you capture that moment in time the would be long forgotten. I really love it when the photos look aged even though they have a great modern feel. That's the feeling I get looking through the portfolio of One Love Photo. These were my favorites. I love how she is braiding his hair in the first pic. If you want to hire them for your wedding, check out their work here.

A B-List Sponsor: PosePrints

PosePrints believes that stationery should be truly unique to you -- and look like you too! We say, why not? PosePrints creates a truly personalized experience because you design the pose yourself. There is a brilliant design section that lets you choose the hair, your lips, your top and accessories. I played with it for twenty minutes. But I got a pose that I liked and you will too. Check it out here.

A B-List Sponsor Spotlight: Hello Super 8

Hello Super 8 Weddings from Megan Hill on Vimeo.

I had the pleasure of meeting Megan Hill at the conference. She was great. So I couldn't wait to get home to take a look at what Hello Super 8 has been up to. Making great wedding videos is what they have been doing. Isn't this exactly how you want to remember your special day? I think so. Check Hello Super 8 out and let them tell your wedding story. Their motto is "Making modern films with vintage cameras." Need I say more?

A B-List Sponsor Spotlight: Union Photography

Because a picture is worth a thousand words. Union Photography was a B-List sponsor. Union Photography is the beautiful work of Shelly Kroeger. You can check out her lovely photographs on her web site. This is my favorite shot. It speaks volumes.

A B-List Sponsor Spotlight: Fresh

One of my absolute favorite giveaways in my goodie bag was the gift from Fresh. First of all, the box was so pretty, I didn't want to open it. When I did, I was blown away. It contained their wonderful brown suger body polish (that I can not wait to use), a tube of their mascara and lip gloss and their soy-based facial cleanser. But the kicker for me was their sumptuous citron de vigne eau de parfum (shown above)! It smells like heaven and I love perfume. They have a customer for life.

A B-List Sponsor Spotlight: Hallak Cleaners

I loved the giveaway from Hallak Cleaners. They included information on gown preservation, stain removal tips, a lint brush and sewing kit, along with a tiny satchel of potpourri. I really love getting a lint brush. It is small and can totally fit into my purse. They consider themselves to be the best in gown preservation and restoration. Go to their web site and call them up.

The Bridal Wishlist Outing: A Fab Weekend

What a weekend. I had a ball and the weather could not have been better. For a full recap head on over to The Capitol Fashionista.

Here's what I did on Saturday. What a Saturday!

Wow! What a Saturday. Despite missing my early train, I did finally get to Brooklyn to the fab Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO for an amazing event, The B-List organized by Vané Broussard (The Brooklyn Bride) and Anne Chertoff (Wedded Bits and From "I Will" to "I Do"). What a fantastic job these beautiful women did organizing this event! They pulled together one of the best planned events that I have attended in years. There was great ambience, great food, great wine, and great company. There were discussions about a range of topics like blogging as a business. It was so good to finally put faces to women that I talk to via email or read their blogs daily. It was also great to ask about their experiences in the blogosphere. Sometimes you can feel a little isolated from your fellow bloggers. We left the conference and headed over to Michelle Preli, editor-in-chief of Brides.com for a wine tasting(along with chocolate and cheese) produced by Swirl Events. It was great to meet Michelle and to kick back, taste a little wine and really get to know my blogging colleagues. When I left, I felt like I had made new friends and felt very connected to my sisters in wedding blogging.

THE SPACE - Galapagos Art Space
The space in in Brooklyn in the DUMBO area between both the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. What a cool area and a great space. When I first arrived, I thought the space was an odd place to have a wedding but by 3 pm when we were packing up to leave, they were setting up for a wedding and boy did it all make sense to me then. What an amazing space to have a wedding.

THE FOOD - Sterling Affair Catering
The food was catered by Sterling Affair Catering. It was so delish. There were tasty wraps and sandwiches and pasta dishes and other yummy dishes. I would highly recommend them for your next event. I wanted seconds!

THE CAKE - Mark Joseph Cakes
Okay. I absolutely detest raspberries but Mark Randazzo has made me a believer. Any person that can make me crave raspberries, can make me a cake anyday, any time. We got to taste one of his masterpieces and I must say that it was to die for. He made the raspberry filling taste like a little piece of heaven. Definitely had two pieces. LOL

THE PHOTOGRAPHER - Jenny Ebert Photography
Jenny Ebert is one of the most delightful and beautiful women that I have ever met. Oh, and by the way, she is an amazing photographer. She documented the day in a way that will provide all of us with such wonderful lasting memories. I can't wait to see the pictures. As soon as the pictures are posted, I will post them here. For now, go to her site and see for yourself what an eye she has for capturing that moment.

THE GOODIES - Thoughtful Day and love*jenna
You have to love goodie bags and boy did we have goodie bags. Our very own B-List tote bag was designed by Thoughtful Day and I adore my bag. It got a little dirty when it rubbed up against my car and I was having a little cow. It is so beautiful, I didn't want it to get dirty. LOL! Our name tags were handwritten in gorgeous calligraphy by Jenna of love*jenna. Need a calligrapher, check her out! Beautiful work.

THE SPONSORS
Here's a list of all of the very generous sponsors from Saturday's events. If you have a wedding need, I am sure that one of the fab vendors could more than help you with making your very modern wedding day a smash hit.
