NY BRIDAL MARKET EVENT: An Evening with Grace Ormonde

First and foremost... there is no place like the Plaza Hotel in NYC. No place. It is one of my favorite places on Earth. When you walk through the door, you immediately feel how truly special it is to be there. Such opulence and grace and grandeur. Unbelievable. So whenever I am invited to an event at the Plaza, it is extremely hard for me to say no. So I hop on the train and get moving. Lucky for me this time, it was all going down during Bridal Market.

The beautiful Grace Ormonde, Editor-in-Chief of the always amazing Wedding Style Magazine held the most fabulous and lush book launch party. The room was filled with georgeous flowers and drinks abound and food... food was everywhere. Sushi. Oh how I love sushi. There were also gorgeous men standing with shoulders back holding the most beautiful orchids. Yummy.

Her new book, Being in Love Never Goes Out of Style, is a must have for any bride. The limited edition book "being in love never goes out of style," is a 416-page glorious pictorial tribute to Grace's 10 years of featuring the most luxurious and glamorous weddings on the planet. The book captures all the glamour, details and true essence of exceptional weddings including: lighting design, wedding cakes, tabletop and floral design and venue. The book has been in the making for years and features the work of some of the most talented and celebrated wedding professionals around the world including event maestro Colin Cowie, celebrity cake designer Slyvia Weinstock, and floral designer Preston Bailey, just to name a few.

There were some very notable celebs floating around the party including Jenny Packham Reem Acra, Ines Di Santo, Colin Cowie, Randy Fenoli from Kleinfeld’s Say Yes To The Dress (I LOVE RANDY!), Frank Jedda from Kleinfeld’s Say Yes To The Dress, Karen Hendrix of Karen Hendrix Couture, Maggie Norris of Maggie Norris Haute Couture, Ed Libby of Ed Libby & Co., Joseph Todd of Joseph Todd Events, Marcy Blum, Kara Ross, and of course, the one and only Sylvia Weinstock.

Here is a peek inside her amazing book. You can get your copy here.

NY BRIDAL MARKET COVERAGE: Accessories Option with Brides Revisited and MEG Jewelry

I took a much needed break from wedding dresses to scout accessories. I headed on over to Pier 94. Pier 94 was massive. To my delight, I finally met the lovely Meg Lammers of MEG Jewelry in person. Meg created my wedding jewelry (many moons ago) for me and my bridal party. The pieces were so beautiful. I still wear it to this day. Of course, her bridal line was gorgeous. You will totally find something that will add the perfect touch for your wedding dress.

Looking for a gorgeous headpiece? Brides Head Revisited has just the right one for you. I love the bling. Their pieces were unique, especially the hair flowers. I can never get enough of flower hairpins. It's such a quick and easy way to add glamour to your wedding day attire.

NY BRIDAL MARKET COVERAGE: Major Drama at St. Pucchi

True to form, St. Pucchi had drama on top of drama walking down their runway. Not to mention the fact that it was their 25th Anniversary. So it was a celebration of pomp and circumstance that epitomize ballroom gowns as ballroom gowns were in Elizabethan times. Big full skirts and embellishment galore, St. Pucchi has the perfect dress for the bride that wants to make that grand entrance.

NY BRIDAL MARKET COVERAGE: The Wedding Guys and the Wedding Trendspot Show

One of my favorite shows during Bridal Market was the fab show by The Wedding Guys. It was so good to see bridal designers that I did not know that much about because they usually are designing gowns because they saw a hole in the bridal market. So their dresses have something very personal to say. There was quite a bit of drama, including the eco-designs and blue wedding dress by Lindee Daniel, long headdress and back adornment by Beth Ellis, the blush pink ballroom gown by Katerina Bocci, the short dresses by Chaviano, the lovely selection of beautiful strapless dresses by CB Couture, the ruffles galore at Karen Hendrix and the old hollywood glamour of Valena.
