MODERN WEDDING DRESSES: GEMY BY GEMY MAALOUF

GEMY by GEMY MAALOUF

Gemy Maalouf took an ambitious step by bringing her unique flair to the fashion-conscious bride in 2004 with the GEMY MAALOUF Bridal line. In 2006, she once again embraced progress and change with her GEMY “Le Prêt” line, which provides a complete range of formal attire, from tops and skirts to short dresses. Finally in 2007, feeling the increasing demand for her designs from a niche of clientele with lower budgets, Gemy launched her 2nd line Beside Couture by GEMY providing the style at more affordable prices. Here is her latest collection.

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING DRESSES: DECOUPAGE BY CLAIRE PETTIBONE

DECOUPAGE BY CLAIRE PETTIBONE SPRING/SUMMER 2014

Decoupage is french and refers to the age old art of cutting and layering paper cutouts for the purpose of decorating wooden boxes, chests, and other objects. This beautiful collection by Claire Pettibone is just that. It's a layering of chantilly lace and guipure, silks and vintage laces, flowers and other exquisite handmade details. What I loved the most was that the back of the dresses were just as heavenly as the front. Photographs by Anton Oparin.

I am flabbergasted that this super gorg wedding dress is less than $700. Wedding planning aside, dress shopping is at the head of the class. You will get an A+ for beauty, style, and saving a pretty penny. The Angeline dress is another fabulous affordable wedding dress find at Ruche.

We love the beautiful Margot dress by Charlotte Casadejus. We know that feathers were so last year. But we don't care.

WEDDING DRESSES: PROJECT RUNWAY ALUM RAMI KASHOU & BEBE

Project Runway Alumnus, Rami Kashou is releasing a line of wedding dresses for Bebe. It doesn't surprise me at all to see him venture from special occasion gowns into bridal. The gowns will not be available on Bebe's web site until after March 20th. This gown is my favorite one in the collection. View what's coming at Bebe.com.

WEDDING DRESSES: DESIGNER TONY HAMAWY

While I was at Bridal Market last October, I met this amazing designer, Tony Hamawy. He had the most beautiful gowns (bridal and special occasion). I was floored. I sat and talked with him for quite some time. His passion for fashion design and his feelings about how a woman should look on her wedding day simply moved me. I was glad that he let me take some photographs in his booth. So that I could bring this talented designer to your attention. These were my favs:

WEDDING DRESSES: Easy Breezy by Amour Sans Anguish

Amour Sans Anguish brings you the "Easy To Love You" dress. The top is made with elegantly disheveled chiffons, lace, and ruffles with bits. Totally something different for the bride who dances to the beat of her own little drummer.

WEDDING DRESSES: Victoria Nicole Fall 2011

This fab dress is from the Fall 2011 line of Victoria Nicole. I love that it is very modern on top and very Scarlett O'Hara on the bottom. A great mix of modern and classic. See the entire collection at Victoria Nicole.

NY BRIDAL MARKET: Sarah Jassir Spring 2012

I really tried to visit designers that push the envelope and work to bring brides something special and unique. Of course, there is Vera and Oscar, but I fell in love with Sarah Jassir.

There were so many different options available. I loved the sexy neckline on Swoon as well as delicate touch of the lace cap sleeves on Allure. I totally adored the lace sleeves on Serene and the racy deep peephole on Passion. But my favs were definitely Amore, Adore, and especially Romance. I love the gorgeous colors in Amore and Romance and the flirty floral fun of Adore.

Visit their web site to find a wedding salon near you that carries Sarah Jassir line.
