BRIDAL JEWELRY: The Beautiful Revival of Vintage
Posted by
Janice, Editor-in-Chief
There is something so incredibly special about vintage jewelry. But I love when a designer takes vintage jewelry and re-purposes it into something even more spectacular. You are assured to have own something unique that will add the perfect finishing touch to your wedding dress.
Kolton J Jewelry will add that finishing perfection to your bridal ensemble. I met with jewelry designer Jenny Schretter yesterday to view these gorgeous pieces up close and personal. Not only is Jenny a very talented designer, but she is fabulous.
Jenny has two lines, Harriet Kingston (named for her grandmother and in honor of her memories of Boston) which boasts one-of-a-kind designs. She also designs a general collection that has a little more modern spin. I adore both collections. I love how she painstakingly searches for vintage jewelry and is committed to sourcing the most amazing gems including agate, prehnite, coral, amethyst and freshwater pearls (to name a few) in order to bring her clients the best of the best. Everything is made here in the U.S.
From her sketches, she carefully constructs jewelry by hand in order to create pieces that not only will last but could easily begin your heirloom collections. Jewelry that you can pass down to your daughters, sisters, or nieces on their wedding day. She also makes custom bridal jewelry. So if you don't see something that is perfect for you, she can design something very special for your and your bridesmaids.
Here are some of my favorite pieces. See her entire collection at Kolton J.
