PATRON SUPPORTED: Vera Wang + David's Bridal = Magnificence
Posted by
Janice, Editor-in-Chief
Oh! Em! Gee! I adore Vera Wang as you know from my recent post, Bride & Groom Unveiled & Vera Wang. So you know that I was so looking forward to viewing her new collaboration with David's Bridal, White by Vera Wang, up close and personal.
Vera Wang did not disappoint. Let me just say that they get an A+ on affordability. Dresses range from $600 to $1400. Yes, starting at $600... you read that right. I know that you have felt the material of a $600 gown and it was not quite like a $6000 gown. That is not the case. The fabric of these amazing gowns is top notch. Not sure how Vera did it, but she did.
Not only is the fabric luxurious, but the designs are classic Vera Wang. There was organza and chiffon and lace and tulle wrapped with beautiful bows. There were one-shoulder, v-neck and strapless options. Guaranteed to please any bride with sizes from 0-14. My absolute favorite is the blush pink strapless organza gown. It made me want to get married again. View all of their very unique wedding dresses, including White by Vera Wang.
Here are a few of my favs:

The very stylish Sarah Jessica Parker is now the Chief Creative Officer of Halston Heritage and that is a good thing. She is the perfect person to protect the history and grandeur of the Halston brand. That is also good news for brides looking for bridesmaids dresses that are modern but still feel very vintage. This dress is from the latest Halston Heritage collection. See this one and more at Shopbop.

FOR THE BRIDE: Choosing A Custom Wedding Dress
Posted by
Janice, Editor-in-Chief
The market is very saturated with wedding dress options. A great deal of the dresses resemble one another. So why not have a custom gown made? I love these options from love, june. I especially love the one on the top left-hand corner. She calls her gowns "vintage-inspired, sustainable glamourous gowns." I agree. Visit her site for more information.

DC BRIDAL SHOW: Bride & Groom Unveiled & Vera Wang
Posted by
Janice, Editor-in-Chief
I had the pleasure of attending Washingtonian's Bride & Groom Magazine's Unveiled Bridal Showcase. It was held at the Park Hyatt in DC. Oddly enough, I had never been to the Park Hyatt, but I will be sure to make a return visit. What a fab hotel.
This was my first bridal show this season and it did not disappoint. There were a number of vendors that I had not met before and will be spotlighting those businesses later in the week. But the highlight of the event was the jaw-dropping Vera Wang Bridal Show, courtesy of Saks Jandel. Can I just say that I was overwhelmed? I am a huge Vera Wang fan and even wore Vera Wang for my wedding many moons ago. So I could not wait to see what I missed when I went to NYC last year.
I think that every woman in the place was mesmerized and for good reason. I am such an unconventional person, so my wedding dresses were antique gold. So I was totally in love with all of the wedding dresses that were in platinum, blush pink, antique bronze and the like. Anyone can wear a white dress, but it takes a real broad to walk down the aisle in a platinum wedding dress! Here are some pics from the runway show.
