Share Your Love Contest: Courtship Stories

Enter the Share Your Love story contest!

Courtship Stories wedding favors and keepsakes, the brainchild of Ellen Braunstein, announces a contest for engaged couples who are passionate about sharing their love story with friends and family at their wedding. The winning bride and groom will have their courtship story written and then receive some help submitting it to love story contests with wedding-related prizes. For sample manuscripts, visit www.courtship-stories.com. Contestants should submit a brief synopsis of how they met and fell in love and why they would like to win. “Special consideration will be given to couples who have had to overcome physical and emotional obstacles to be with each other, or couples in which it would seem unbelievable that their paths would cross,” said Ellen Braunstein, writer and creative director of Courtship Stories. All entrants will receive a tip sheet on how to write their own courtship story. Second place winners, who want to write their own essay, can have it edited for free by Ellen. Participants must be getting married between November 30, 2008 through 2009. Send your entries to ellen@courtship-stories.com by November 1, 2008. For more information, please visit Ellen's blog.

The Look of Royalty: Elizabeth Emanuel

Bridal gown designer, Elizabeth Emanuel, designed the wedding dress for the late Diana, Princess of Wales. That makes her tops with me. Her dresses to me are what I would consider to be "ultra poufy." Even though it is not my style, I clearly see the beauty of each design and how it would make a woman feel like royalty. See her entire collection here.

If you are like me, then you will want to get a pair of these vintage lovelies. These are my favorites. See it all here.

Oh Canada!: Renella Bridal

Wow! If you can't find anything in the states, then trek on over the border to Canada. Canadian bridal design house, Renella Bridal, has a beautiful line of wedding dresses. I love the unusual silhouettes. It adds something unexpected to your overall look. The seventh dress down is my absolute favorite. See the entire collection here.

It's Gotta Be Barcelona: Hotel Arts Barcelona

My three favorite cities in the whole wide world are New Orleans, Montreal,Canada and the one and only Barcelona, Spain (not in any order). I could seriously see myself living in Barcelona. I love the people and their laid back attitude. I remember the hotel clerk telling us, on a Wednesday afternoon, that he was going to the beach after work. We were like, "the beach??? Who goes to the beach on a Wednesday?" The Catalan do!

So the next time (which I hope will be soon) that I go to Barcelona, I want to stay here - at the Hotel Arts Barcelona. The decor, the spa, and the view are all breathtaking. But of course it would be, it's a part of the Ritz-Carlton line of hotels. Which is right up my alley because I am a terrible hotel snob. So if you are going to Barcelona for your honeymoon, see more and make reservations here.
