Rock On: Punk Rock Bride

There is always creativity in the world spurred on by the overwhelming need for something different. Thank goodness. That is what pushes Punk Rock Bride to create beautiful and unique wedding gowns. They want to speak loudly to a whole generation of young, urban brides that has been overlooked for some time, and they want to give them another option. Bravo! I love dresses that are unique yet still maintain classic styling. These gorgeous dresses are from their 2009 line. See more gowns on their web site. The second dress is my absolute fav.

Whimsy and Drama: Georges Chakra

Lebonese designer Georges Chakra was initially drawn to interior design. After two years of studies, he realized that his true love and passion was in fashion. So he went off to Canada to pursue a fashion degree at the Canadian Fashion Academy. His aesthetic is one that is consumed by color and whimsy and flow and drama. His gowns command attention. He has been presenting two collections at Paris Fashion Week since 2002. Here are my favorite dresses from his Spring/Summer 2009 Bridal collection. You can see his entire bridal collection on his web site. For more on his evening wear collection, check out the Designer Spotlight on Chakra.

Style for the Bride: Margi Kent

Los Angeles-based fashion designer and stylist to the stars, Margi Kent, showed her evening and bridal wear collection this week in NYC. She has served as fashion designer and personal stylist for personalities including Meryl Streep, Demi Moore, Mariah Carey, Kim Cattrall, Teri Hatcher, Neil Diamond, Don Henley and the late Beatle George Harrison. You can see pieces from her evening wear line over at The Capitol Fashionista.

Here are two gorgeous bridal gowns from her collection that would make any bride stop in her tracks. Both dresses have amazing details on the bottom halves of the dresses. I also really love the tulle details on the second dress. You know that you can clearly see yourself in one of these beauties. Check out the rest of her bridal collection on her web site.

A B-List Sponsor Spotlight: Liz Linder Photography

Another cool chica that I met at the B-List Meetup was Mary Flatley of Liz Linder Photography. Another vintage-loving gal, ummmmmm, like myself. Mary and Carrie were telling me about the best bus deal ever from Boston to New York for $15. Can you believe it? It's true. They traveled by bus and looked fabulous. It's important for your photographer to be able to tell your story. Look at these photos. Need I say more. Liz Linder Photography can surely tell your story. See more on their web site.
